Seasons 1-8 see shippers making bids on two of the shipments listed on the uShip website. This is an auction reverse type of format. The bids are typically presented with remarks about the potential risks and costs and also the motivations and skills. If the deadline is reached for an auction it will be given to the bidder with the lowest price. The client's discretion however, the job could be awarded to the bidder who has a higher average feedback rating than past clients. Feedback ratings are used to break connections between the bidders with the lowest price. Season 9 will see shippers receive their cargo through a shipping agent. The bidding process isn’t documented. Shippers load their cargo , and then try to deliver it in perfect condition within the timeframe set by the recipient or the client. Once the goods have been delivered, feedback ratings are shown from customers. Each shipper's revenue, as well as the costs (fuel labor, late delivery penalties), is displayed on-screen at the end. subtract from the bid to determine the overall profit or loss. Sometimes, a shipper may arrange to transport an additional load on the same trip, and the additional money is incorporated into their tally. The shipper might not be able to finish the job due to safety concerns or load size. Sometimes, a shipper might employ the assistance of another shipper to complete a job. The shippers will then decide which way to split the profits. In the first eight seasons, the process of each shipment is interspersed with humorous criticisms from other shippers.
