Lee Roy Selmon blends the benefits of a football scholarship within his home with the benefits of community service. The first family is his youngest of the nine children of Lucious Selmon and Jessie. The family lived on a family farm near Eufala, Oklahoma. In football, he was alongside three brothers in Oklahoma. Three of them were All-Americans. Lucious Jr. Dewey, Lee Roy, and Lucious Jr. Dewey started the 1973 season. Lee Roy has won both the Outland Award and the Lombardi award as the top lineman in America. Over the course of three seasons, Oklahoma was 32-1-1 with Roy as the starter. Also, they won 2 national titles. He received a third scholarship in 1975 and named as an National Football Foundation Student-Athlete. Selmon earned a degree in Education. Lee Roy's fourth service was ten-hours per week of volunteer time in the college. After college he settled in Tampa and played for nine seasons with the Buccaneers played the all-pro 3 times, and began a business career. His first job was as an Account Relation Officer at First Florida Bank, Tampa. In the past, he worked previously for the Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. In 1982, the Junior Chamber of Commerce honored Lee Roy in 1982 for being one of the top 10 young men in the US. Lee Roy stood 6-2 in height and weighed 256 pounds as a college player he played for the team of 1975. In 1993, he was named assistant director of the University of South Florida. In 1988, he was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame. The same year, he also was a part of the GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame and the Pro Football Hall of Fame. In 1989, the Oklahoma City Chapter of the National Football Foundation in 1989 gave their Distinguished American Award to his parents Mr. and Mrs.. Lucious Selmon Sr. The presentation was made by Henry Bellmon govenor of Oklahoma.
